Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddhism and home to many temples and monasteries. The town itself is separate from the temple grounds; it seems to exist mainly to accommodate pilgrims and tourists. Poor Brandon was really sick here for a couple of days, so we spent a lot of time in our hotel room before finally getting out to see the sights.
